‘주거안정장학금’ 신설…대학생 월 최대 20만 원 지원 원거리 대학 진학 기초·차상위 계층 대상, 3월 18일까지 신청

2025학년도부터 기초생활수급자 및 차상위 계층 대학생들에게 매월 최대 20만 원을 지원하는 ‘주거안정장학금’이 새롭게 시행된다. 교육부와 한국장학재단은 원거리 대학 진학으로 인한 주거비 부담을 완화하기 위해 이번 제도를 도입했으며, 신청은 2월 4일부터 3월 18일까지 진행된다.
Starting in 2025, low-income and lower-middle-income students enrolled in universities far from home will be eligible for a new “Housing Stability Scholarship” offering up to 200,000 KRW per month. The Ministry of Education and the Korea Student Aid Foundation (KOSAF) introduced this program to reduce housing costs. Applications are open from February 4 to March 18.
지원 자격과 주요 조건
‘원거리 진학’ 여부는 대학 소재지와 부모님 주소지가 서로 다른 교통권(대도시 권역 및 시군구 단위)인지에 따라 결정된다. 예를 들어, 수도권 이외 지역에서 수도권 대학으로 진학한 경우 지원 대상이 될 수 있지만, 같은 교통권(예: 서울-성남) 내에서는 제외된다.
Eligibility is determined by whether the university and parental residence are located in different transportation zones (e.g., metropolitan or regional zones). For instance, students from non-metropolitan areas attending metropolitan universities qualify, but those with both addresses in the same zone (e.g., Seoul-Sungnam) are excluded.
지원 내역과 절차
학생은 월 최대 20만 원 한도 내에서 실제 지출한 주거 관련 비용을 지원받는다. 지원 항목에는 임차료(전·월세), 주거 유지·관리비, 수도·전기·가스비 등이 포함된다. 신청은 한국장학재단 누리집 또는 모바일 앱을 통해 24시간 가능하며, 별도 심사를 거쳐 지급된다.
Students can receive reimbursement for housing-related expenses, including rent, maintenance fees, and utility bills, up to 200,000 KRW per month. Applications are accepted 24/7 via the KOSAF website or mobile app, with funds disbursed after a review process.
추가 정보: 국가장학금 2차 신청 병행
주거안정장학금 신청 기간 동안 국가장학금 2차 신청도 진행된다. 이는 신입생, 편입생, 복학생 등 1차 신청을 놓친 학생들을 대상으로 하며, 마감 이후에는 추가 신청이 불가능하다.
During the same period, the second round of national scholarship applications will also be open. This is aimed at freshmen, transfer students, returning students, and those who missed the first round. No further applications will be accepted after the deadline.
